Staffordshire Area Meeting (AM)

Representatives from each of the seven Quaker Meetings in Staffordshire meet every month, except January and August, at one of our Meetings Houses to consider business matters, such as reports from central committees, correspondence from Friends House in London, financial matters, applications for membership, any issues raised by local Meetings, and so on.

The AM business meetings begin with a period of silent worship, and the subsequent business is conducted in a spirit of worship. If the agenda was not too long the meeting often concludes with a specially event.  For example, we have had talks on the Work of Quaker Prison Ministers in Staffordshire and on the History and Culture of the Inuit. At an Area Meeting held in Leek one of our members played a guitar and led us in singing a number of 'Quakerly' songs.

Friends enjoying a few songs together after Monthly Meeting at Leek Meeting House.
